Our Adoptable Horses
In order to adopt any of the below horses, you must complete the online Adoption Application beside the horse you are interested in. Adoption fees range from $200-$600. This fee and all donations are tax deductible. We require a signed statement ensuring that the horse can never be transferred, leased, given or sold to anyone other than back to Hope for Horses. We will make visits and require access to veterinary and farrier records to help assure that horse is receiving the best care.

Mia
Mia is missing her right eye, but very solid on that side when using voice commands. Can walk, trot, canter under saddle but would prefer the easy life of retirement, grazing, grooming, and the occasional ride. We have worked a good bit on creating boundaries on the ground so that she is not pushy. She adapts to new herds very well and is polite in the herd hierarchy. Easy keeper for her age. Strong feet, barefoot, easy to trim. No lameness, no medication.

Molly
Molly is a 13 hand pony and untrained, but she has great potential. She would be a great companion horse or a good project horse for an experienced rider.

Grace
Grace is a beautiful, registered little Paso Fino mare. She was found starving in Haywood County with a pasture mate who has since passed away. She has dropped rear fetlocks which are not causing her any lameness issues, but could at some point. She is an easy keeper in the summer and a more difficult in the winter to keep weight on. She is super sweet, yet guarded with her affection.

Paco
Paco is a precious, gentle quarter horse gelding. Hope rescued him in October of 2019. After months of wound care and starvation recovery he seemed ready to roll only to then be dealt a very rare diagnosis of glaucoma in his left eye. This is a very rare condition in horses which has left him blind in that eye. He is approximately 15 years old and has impeccable ground manners with regard to his blind eye. He will make a wonderful companion horse as he is very submissive in whatever other horse he is with. He deserves the absolute best!.

Winter
Winter is a sweet mare with a very friendly disposition. We have put great ground manners in her and she is very respectful on the ground. She does walk, trot, canter under saddle. Winter has been diagnosed with ringbone so she will require medication for the rest of her life. We have had her on previcox for 2 months and it helps keep her comfortable under saddle. She is able to carry a light rider and do light work. She would be a very nice lead line pony for a kid. She prefers riding in a halter as she has head trimmers and the bridle seems to agitate that. Neuro work-up didn’t show anything.
She is an easy keeper, a sweet girl, and would make a lovely new herd mate and family member! Also she has severe allergies to gnats and is also on meds for that.

Skye
Skye is a three years young Paint Horse mare. She has been with Hope for Horses since she was born and spent her first few years at a lovely foster home. Skye came into the training facility this winter and has spent a few months growing and learning to be a well behaved kid. She has just recently gone under saddle and has taken to the process nicely. Due to her age we are taking her training slowly and in stride. Skye is going to make a lovely partner for someone very soon. She is a beautiful, friendly and curious girl. We will continue to introduce her to the world of being a good citizen and keep you all posted on her progress!

Brody
Little man Brody has been with Hope for Horses for a few years, he came in from a large herd of feral, untouched ponies. He is a young, welsh cross pony, that is very green and super cute! Many of these ponies are now adopted out and in the world toting kids around! We hope that that will be in Brody’s near future. He spent a good bit of time out on a large farm enjoying the good life eating grass, hanging with sheep and growing. He is now back at the training facility learning to be a good citizen. Within the next two months Brody should be well on his way to carrying his (little) rider and ready to explore the world! Please stay tuned for Brody’s progress!

Dude
Dude has arthritic stifle, so he is unable to be ridden and must be on senior food and soaked alfalfa pellets. He does not get along with cows and is sometimes hard to halter, but after haltered, he behaves well. He likes to be groomed, but lacks patience, so don't go too slow. Dude will be the perfect companion to the right home with some experience.
