KEEPING PAYROLL DOWN!

The majority of our staff here at HFH are actually volunteer staff. In fact, our director, Whitney Wright who spends countless hours on the farm including nights and weekends, is a volunteer herself!

Paulette

Paulette Walker: is a native of North Carolina. She is married and has three children and eight grandchildren.

She and her husband, James, moved to Asheville after she retired from Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

After seeing the article about HFH in the newspaper she came to volunteer and rekindled the love she had for horses as a young girl.

She says "Once I came through the gate at HFH and I saw what lay before me, it took my breath away. I knew then that my life was about to be profoundly altered and my words were, 'thank you God for bringing me here.'"
